Employee Parking Facility
Eli Lilly & Co.
Indianapolis, Indiana

A much needed expansion at Eli Lilly required extensive demolition and redevelopment of existing properties. TLF‟s Site/Civil Department was responsible for the design and coordination of this work, including design of an employee parking facility and site/civil engineering for planned new buildings. TLF‟s involvement included the following work:

Residential Redevelopment and Infrastructure Modifications

TLF developed demolition and construction drawings for the demolition of a 10-acre former residential area. The project involved the rerouting and relocation of all active utilities, including storm and sanitary sewers, water lines, gas lines and electricity. TLF was also responsible for coordination with local governmental agencies and the various utility companies. Local stormwater Drainage and Industrial discharge Ordinances and Owner Environmental Requirements were implemented, and a stormwater quality master plan was developed, complying with City and State Regulations.

New Parking Facility

TLF‟s Site/Civil Department developed Construction Plans for and managed the parking facility project, which accommodates nearly 800 vehicles and employs the use of speed tables to slow traffic and increase safety at pedestrian crossing points. In addition to the layout, grading and drainage of the parking area, TLF was responsible for the design of three turnstile buildings which provide access to the new, adjacent buildings. The design of all security features, including the turnstiles, the parking area call boxes and fencing, was designed by TLF and/or coordinated with Lilly security. The estimated Construction Cost for this project was $15,000,000.
